BOUQUET STYLE GUIDE

Not all bouquets are created the same. There are actually several styles of bouquets that brides can choose from to best fit their wedding design. Each style is created differently based on the bouquet shape and blooms used.

Below are the top 5 bouquet styles that we frequently design...

Crescent

The crescent bouquet is arranged to be tight at the top/middle and cascades slightly on the sides. The best flowers and greenery are those that are wispy and have a natural drape. This style is a great choice for brides who want something unique and different. Modern, romantic, or whimsical, the crescent bouquet is versatile for any setting.

Fan

The fan style is our take on a traditional nosegay bouquet. This style is simple and focuses on just a few blooms. These bouquets can be big or small. We love this style for arrangements with all tropicals. If monstera leaves, palm fronds, and bird of paradise are right up your alley look no further than opting for a fan style bouquet!

Round

This bouquet is round in shape and arranged in a tidy dome. The best flowers to use are round in shape, like roses or peonies and they typically have minimal greenery. When we create round bouquets, we typically incorporate a mix of flower sizes and colors to keep it interesting. If you are envisioning a very classic wedding design, this timeless and elegant bouquet is perfect!

Hand-Tied

Wild, free, and boho-inspired are just a few words to describe this style of bouquet. Unlike the round design, the hand-tied bouquet is arranged more loosely with an assortment of flower shapes and greenery. This organic and “fresh-picked” design is on of our all time favorites!

Cascading

This “waterfall of flowers” bouquet style is perfect for brides who love all things dreamy with a little bit of drama. It is meant to hang down over the hands creating a beautiful tapered effect from top to bottom. You can use just about any type of flowers; we love mixing garden roses and tropical blooms. If you are planning to use lots of vines or even draping phalaenopsis orchids in other parts of your floral design, a cascading bouquet is a great option to tie the look together.

There are so many different styles of bouquets to choose from and we hope this simple breakdown of our favorites gives you more insight on what some of those styles are.

XOXO,

Louise+ LLW Team
