Kaheke & Gavin’s Bright Lanikuhonua Wedding on Oahu

Kaheke and Gavin’s wedding day at Lanikuhonua felt incredibly special from the very start. Set along Oʻahu’s west coast, with the ocean stretching endlessly behind them, the day unfolded in a way that felt deeply personal, joy-filled, and full of meaning.

The venue itself held a special place in Kaheke’s heart. Growing up on Oʻahu, she had danced hula at Lanikuhonua many times throughout her youth, making it a location already rich with memory, movement, and connection long before it became the place she would say “I do.”

From the moment guests arrived, there was an energy in the air. Bright pink and orange florals danced against the lush greenery and blue ocean views, setting the tone for a celebration that felt vibrant and alive. Every design choice felt intentional, bold without being overwhelming, and so true to who Kaheke and Gavin are.

For Kaheke, getting married at home added an extra layer of significance. She and her family thoughtfully wove cultural elements throughout the evening, grounding the celebration in love, history, and connection. One of the most moving moments of the night was when Kaheke shared a hula with her father. It was powerful, emotional, and incredibly beautiful. You could feel how much it meant to them and to everyone watching.

Family love showed up again and again throughout the evening, including through the meaningful gifts shared. One moment we will never forget was when Kaheke’s father presented her with a handcrafted canoe paddle, symbolizing guidance, strength, and the journey ahead. It was filled with so much pride and emotion, the kind of moment that stays with you.

As the night went on, the celebration only became more joyful. The dance floor came alive as guests grabbed blow-up instruments, laughed freely, and fully leaned into the fun. It was playful, energetic, and the kind of party where no one wants the music to end.

Kaheke and Gavin’s wedding was such a beautiful reflection of who they are. Colorful, heartfelt, fun, rooted in culture, and surrounded by people who love them deeply. A Lanikuhonua celebration we’ll be smiling about for a long time.
