studio assistant and florist application
Job description:
Part-Time Florist – Grow with Love Letter Weddings
Honolulu, HI | Part-time (with event-based hours) | In-person
We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves flowers and weddings, has an eye for beauty, and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty. If you enjoy being part of a kind, creative team and you’re excited to grow your skills over time, we’d love to meet you.
At Love Letter Weddings, our floral style is vibrant, creative, and a little whimsical. Think English garden meets modern tropical. We design for couples getting married all across Oʻahu, and we care deeply about bringing their vision to life with intention and heart.
This part-time role blends hands-on floral design support with studio assistant responsibilities. You’ll help with everything from prepping flowers to keeping our studio running smoothly. Over time, there’s room to grow into leadership roles on the floral team and take on more ownership in the studio.
About the Role:
This position includes weekday studio hours and event-day floral work. You’ll start by helping with flower prep, basic design support, organizing supplies, and learning how we work behind the scenes. As you grow, you’ll receive one-on-one training in floral design, studio management, and event logistics.
The Studio Assistant portion of this role is essential to keeping our workspace organized, efficient, and fully stocked so both the floral and planning teams can do their best work. This part of the job requires a commitment of 2 days per week.
On weeks when we have events, your schedule will naturally expand. Studio assistant responsibilities typically take 1–2 days, and arranging or event-day work adds an additional 2–4 days, resulting in 4–5 total workdays during event weeks. Hours increase during busy wedding months, and decrease during slower periods, so some flexibility is helpful.
